From Theresa: Wouldn't it be nice to get your food from perennials instead of starting your entire garden from seed every year? In our tiny yard we try to imitate Nature by planting as many edible perennials as possible. To the left are some of the unusual perennial vegetables we eat, that you might want to consider adding to your garden next year. These three are easy to grow and tasty perennial tubers. Click on the names for information about growing, planting, and cooking each of them. Happy Gardening! From Bear... Dudes, ever feel like foraging but don't want to leave the yard? That's what these odd perennial plants are good for. If you do feel like leaving the yard, see our foraging page and you too can be a best dressed forager: |

We prefer quality to quantity!
Theresa will be posting notifications of the new pages we add to the website and Bear likes to share inspirational posts about our homesteading experiences. If you'd like to follow our blog: Note that if we include a link to a product in our blog, it means we have used and authentically recommend it. Though it doesn't cost you any extra, we may receive a small commission if you click on the link or buy the product. Some day it may be enough to help support our work so we can do more of it.
