CELEBRATE SEASONAL EATIN'
From Bear:Theresa's Celebrate pages are about getting in touch with the seasons. These pages will be about getting in touch with eating and cooking seasonally.
I'm learning that food tastes better in its own season. One Summer Theresa finally got me to like tomatoes, then when Winter came she said we couldn't eat any more until next July. I thought that was BS! But then I tried a cherry tomato from the store instead of our garden and found out it tastes like cardboard. Theresa also taught me that if we pick the tomato and eat it right away, it's still alive. You can respect the plant's sacrifice by taking its life energy into your own, and it in turn nourishes you more. I like that if I eat it right away, it tastes better. So we are trying to learn to eat seasonally and respect our food. Join me as we explore Good Eatin' for the Wheel of Year:
