Eat Your Wild Yard: SpringGrowing & Foraging for Wild Edibles in Your Own Backyard
Have you ever wondered if you could shop for groceries without spending money? A note from Theresa about self-publishing: I began this website on my two week Winter vacation in late December of 2013. What I really wanted to do was write books, however, I had come to accept that while working 40 hours a week I would never be able to find the time to pull together an entire book's worth of chapters in any timely manner. So instead, I began writing pages for this website, because of a driving need to get my words out there. I wanted to share clearly written instructions, including a photo for every step, that would help people be able to actually do the projects we've been experimenting with to live our lives in a more sustainable, self-reliant manner.
It was a challenge to find the time to figure out how to build a website. And it's been a challenge to figure out how to self-publish a book, but I've finally started taking the information from this site, adding new details and insights, and using my graphic design skills to combine them into books. I love books, I love having them on my bookshelf for reference, I love feeling them in my hands, smelling the paper, and flipping through to look at the photos. One of my earliest memories is of making a book by pasting images onto pieces of cardboard and tying them together. Libraries are some of my favorite places in the world- they are so full of potential. I feel immense gratitude that I have made it to this point in my life. May these books also inspire and instruct you on your journey.
