From Theresa: Even though there's snow on the ground in our area, it's close enough to Spring that I'm starting to dream about being out in the garden and what edible perennials I can grow in new areas. I've added a section on "What and How to Plant" to my Permaculture 101 pages. Permaculture is: “…a gardening system that combines the best features of wildlife habitat, edible landscapes, and conventional flower and vegetable gardens into a self-renewing landscape that lets Nature do most of the work.” (Quoted from Gaia's Garden by Toby Hemenway.) If you aren't familiar with this type of gardening, I recommend reading all the sections of Permaculture 101 from the beginning. It's March now and the Spring Equinox is only three weeks away. Hang in there and Happy Garden Planning Everyone! |
